Weave Accessibility Commitment
Effective October 8, 2025Welcome! At Weave, we are committed to providing a platform that is accessible to all users, regardless of ability or the technology they use. We believe that equitable access to educational data and assessment tools is essential for every educator and administrator.
This page is designed for educators who want to understand our commitment and how our product addresses common accessibility needs.
1. Accessibility Document: The Weave VPAT
The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) is a standardized document used to describe how a product conforms to accessibility standards like the Revised 508 Standards and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
You can review our official conformance report here:
2. Our Commitment to Accessible Design
Weave strives to ensure that our platform is designed to be usable by people with a wide range of abilities and disabilities. This means focusing on core principles like perceivability, operability, understandability, and robustness.
What Standards Do We Follow?
Our accessibility efforts primarily focus on conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. WCAG is an international standard that provides a detailed set of recommendations for making web content more accessible.
Key Accessibility Principles
- Screen Reader Compatibility: Providing descriptive text, labels, and proper structural hierarchy so that users relying on assistive technologies (like JAWS, NVDA, or VoiceOver) can understand and interact with all elements.
- Keyboard Navigation: Ensuring all features, including navigation, forms, and interactive elements, can be accessed and used entirely without a mouse.
- Clear Visual Design: Using strong color contrast, scalable text sizes, and appropriate font choices to aid users with low vision or reading disabilities.
- Predictable Interface: Creating a consistent and intuitive user experience so that functions work the same way across the application, reducing confusion.
3. Understanding Our VPAT Summary
The VPAT details our findings against the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards. While we strive for full conformance, complex, data-rich applications often have areas where exceptions exist or features rely on external data visualizations.
General Conformance Status
The Weave Accreditation Platform currently partially conforms with WCAG 2.1 Level AA.
Next Steps and Remediation Plan
We maintain an active roadmap to address any identified non-conformant features. Our accessibility team is continually working to:
- Enhance accessible naming conventions for all form fields and buttons.
- Improve keyboard focus indicators across all interactive data tables.
- Develop high-contrast modes for complex chart visualizations.
4. Accessibility Features for Educators
As an educator, you can expect the following features to enhance your experience:
| Feature Area | Accessibility Benefit |
|---|---|
| Data Tables | Properly structured tables with headers and relationships identified for screen reader navigation and comprehension. |
| Forms and Inputs | Clear, associated labels and built-in error identification that guides the user to correct input issues easily. |
| Navigation | Skip-to-content links and consistent, logical heading structures for efficient keyboard and screen reader browsing. |
| Text and Content | Support for browser text resizing up to 200% without loss of content or functionality. |
5. Get Support and Provide Feedback
